About Us
Our vision, in the words of Dean Kamen, founder of FIRST:
“To transform our culture by creating a world where science and technology are celebrated and where young people dream of becoming science and technology heroes.”

Lynbrook Robotics aims to inspire students and members of the local community to explore science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) fields of study. With hands-on activities, students are able to apply their “book knowledge” to solve real life problems. You can’t expect to teach kids how to swim by simply telling them, “rotate your arms and kick your feet!” Instead, you have to let them try it out in the pool. Our team provides that “pool” for students to practice the skills learned in math, physics, and even literature classes. Members develop many skills while participating on the team, including:
- Public Speaking
- Collaboration & Teamwork
- Money Management & Grant Writing
- Operating machine tools
- Programming & Electronics
- 3D Computer Aided Design
- 3D Animation
- Media Production (Videos, posters, brochures, flyers, etc.)
- Arts & Crafts
Our robotics students are multifaceted thinkers who constantly interact with one another. With the guidance of veterans and adult mentors, any member can find a part of robotics to enjoy.
