How to Contribute News/Announcements
If you would like to post any news or announcements, please follow the instructions below. In addition, note the following distinction:
News – The news category contains personal achievements (Intel science finalist), completed work (Tower and platform build recap), and team competitions (SVR regional, Atlanta championship). In essence, this section should focus on older events that show the team’s success/activities.
Announcements – The announcements category displays upcoming events, including socials (Laser Quest, Billiards), kickoff brainstorming sessions, design meetings, workshops (WRRF), etc. Its main purpose is to inform members about new activities.
Instructions:
- Login to the contributor dashboard.
- If you don’t know the credentials, please e-mail David or Karthik, whose e-mails may be found under the contact list.
- Under the posts menu in the sidebar, click “Add New.”
- On the right side of the screen, you will see a categories menu. Choose either “News” or “Announcements” based off of your topic (see the distinction between the two above).
- Type in a title and your post’s content.
- Once finished, hit the “Submit for Review” button.
- If you need to edit your post, click the “Edit” button under the posts menu.
- Wait until a moderator reviews your post and publishes it. If you would like speed up this process, notify David or Karthik (via e-mail or telephone) that you’ve made a new article.
