Vex Robotics at Calder Academy

Over the summer, team members volunteered at Calder Academy to help students in a robotics course.

Here’s a video of the vex projects completed:

Robots in the video (order of appearance):
1. Small Arm Bot
2. “Batmobile”
3. Big Arm Bot (several modifications were made throughout the video)
-Tank tread drive train
-Arm lifts up/down and rotates
-Claw uses a worm gear to provide a strong grip
-Automated balancing system: A counterweight on the opposite end of the arm will shift in and out to counterbalance extra weight being lifted. Uses limit sensors to detect the lean of the arm.
