Lynbrook Robotics
The mission of Lynbrook Robotics is to provide high school students with an opportunity to apply science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics (STEAM) in both introductory and advanced levels of robotics and learn how to manage complex projects which involves planning, acquisition of materials, finance, and teamwork. These objectives are primarily met through the participation in the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC), where students work with adult mentors to build a new robot for regional competitions every year.
Through our participation in FRC, we encourage our students to work collaboratively to bring together all our assets to build a highly competitive robot. In this process, team members learn teamwork, cooperation, and management in addition to public speaking, business, media production, and technical skills.
Our vision, in the words of Dean Kamen, founder of FIRST:
“To transform our culture by creating a world where science and technology are celebrated and where young people dream of becoming science and technology heroes.”

our mission
Lynbrook Robotics aims to inspire students and members of the local community to explore science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) fields of study. With hands-on activities, students are able to apply their “book knowledge” to solve real life problems. Students can’t be expected to learn how to swim by simply being told, “rotate your arms and kick your feet!” Instead, they have to try it out in the pool. Our team provides that “pool” for students to practice the skills learned in math, physics, and even literature classes. Members develop many skills while participating on the team, including:
Public Speaking
Collaboration & Teamwork
Money Management & Grant Writing
Operating machine tools
Programming & Electronics
3D Computer Aided Design
3D Animation
Media Production (Videos, posters, brochures, flyers, etc.)
Arts & Crafts
Computer Graphic Design
Website Design and Programming
Photography and Videography
Video Editing
Our robotics students are multifaceted thinkers who constantly interact with one another. With the guidance of veterans and adult mentors, any member can find a part of robotics to enjoy.
