Lynbrook Robotics
About Team 846
Founded in 2001, the Funky Monkeys, Team 846, is a robotics team out of Lynbrook High School in San Jose, California. The team competes in the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) where students work with adult mentors to build a new robot for regional competitions every year. We encourage our students to work collaboratively in order to build a highly competitive robot. Over the course of our team’s history, the team has grown from a small group of members, building robots out of a garage, to a multifaceted group of over a 100 students. We continue to grow our program today, establishing initiatives to help promote robotics education.
Our Mission
“To build competitive robots and teach students the science behind the machine.”
Students develop skills like public speaking, collaboration and teamwork, money management and grant writing, operation of machine tools, programming and electronics, 3D computer aided design, 3D animation, media production (Videos, Posters, Brochures, Flyers, etc.), arts and crafts, computer graphic design, website design, photography and videography, and video editing.
